Rudolf Steiner, the polymath and Austrian researcher explained how human life is actually a test to eliminate our bad habits and attachments lifetime after lifetime. If we fail in one lifetime we have to repeat the homework in our next lifetime. In reality it seems like every lifetime is nothing more than a journey of trying to eliminate all our own attachments from our past in order to become a fulfilled human being. What are ‘attachments’ then? It´s the things that we don´t really need and that we can´t let go of in our hearts. They include all kinds of desires, bad habits and bad character traits. For example a person wants to always argue with his mother while another one always wants to drink and a third one will always be jealous of his more successful friends. Many people are greedy and want to become rich. All these things are bad and must be eliminated.
What happens if the whole culture of the world descends? Chances are that people will follow their environment and become worse and worse.
How does this really work? What is the real and hidden purpose of a lifetime from a higher spiritual perspective? Why do we suffer so much as human beings – especially during this day and age? If you think about it, imagine how little physical work people do these days and how much pressure they endure from the tech system of today´s world. People need to use phones to survive nowadays, they must have credit cards, cars, computers and they are under surveillance 24/7 and most people need to use public transportation which isn´t comfortable. In addition there are countless divorces and family trouble everywhere that makes their lives more miserable than ever before. There is razor sharp competition across all industries. Who can endure all of this pressure and still remain a good person? It´s extremely difficult right.
Whoever can succeed and keep good, positive thoughts in this kind of environment is a great person.
According to Rudolf Steiner we reincarnate in a process, for instance in one lifetime we are dull-witted while in the next one we want absolute human knowledge and become sharp. Finally we transform our knowledge substance into faith in the divine in our next lifetime and we become very pious people. Steiner also claimed that usually a person may alternate between lifetimes focusing on ‘faith’ in one lifetime while in the next one we focus on human knowledge.
These claims are really mind-blowing and each person is free to examine himself and imagine what happened in the previous lifetime which led to his current situation in this lifetime.
This world is in chaos and people desperately need a new human way of life and a new form of spirituality to control themselves. According to Steiner there will be two kinds of people in the future – the race of evil people and the race of good people and they follow two very different paths where one kind of people will try to develop technology in order to control this world and other people while another kind of people will be spiritual and traditional people looking for spiritual enlightenment.
